Why Snow and Ice Are Nothing for a Porsche to Fear

Groundhog Day seems particularly appropriate to Raleigh this year because a) We’re supposed to receive snow or ice pellets or something this week, just like a few weeks ago, and b) Punxsutawney Phil’s predictions of six more weeks of winter seems to be true thus far.

Either that or we’re supposed to be empathizing more with our athletes in Sochi this week.

In any case, to help you divine how to drive your Porsche through another week of wintry weather, we would refer you to an excellent article about track driving in the land of our cold northern neighbor: Canada, eh.

Jedi mind tricks are essentially what the writer in a Carrera 4S felt his driving instructor possessed as he guided him through the twists and turns of Porsche Canada’s snowbank-infested Camp4 track.

Far from just an hour-long pass to bring your own Porsche and have what fun you may, Camp4 is a three-day Porsche-created wonderland located in Mecaglisse, Québec, about an hour out of Montreal. Guests stay at the Estérel Suites Spa & Lake and enjoy provided dining, course driving, and lessons on how to drive in adverse conditions.

Initially begun in Finland, Porsche now offers several camps in different locations to show that far from fearing the winter months, Porsche owners can expect to have as much fun, if not more, in the snow and cold. That fun is dependent on proper education and equipment, of course.

To learn more about how to handle wintry conditions, stop by Leith Porsche to talk with our brand ambassadors; we’d be happy to help!
